Some humor you just remember, like Arte Johnson’s tricycle on Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In show [Wikipedia] (if you’re old enough for the first incarnation of Goldie Hawn).
My family always enjoyed Jim Henson’s humor, both with his muppet characters and others.
One of my favorites was the Swedish Chef, who could always get a chuckle out of me. Here he shows the correct way to make a donut.

This most be the oldest “Pick Up” line in the network marketing book. It is the subject today of our 7th post in a 10 part series on network marketing No-No’s. This list of behaviours that I wish network marketers would immediately stop using, grew out of a post I wrote titled, People Don’t Dislike Network Marketing, They Dislike Network Marketers.”
UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES: SOME GOOD & SOME NOT SO GOOD
It is the nature of human decision making that no matter what course of considered action, there generally are some resulting unintended (and generally unforeseen) consequences. You don’t have to search to far for many examples that permeate our society.
For instance who could have foreseen the chain of events a few years ago from Don Imus making his insensitive remarks on the air…………. to New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine being badly injured in a car crash while on the way to hear Mr. Imus apologize to the Rutgers Women’s basketball team?
“You cannot always predict the results of purposeful action. Life is frequently too complicated and unpredictable, the universe too random, to bend to the will of any individual or group of individuals.”- Steven Gillion
Ever wondered why some people are so lucky as to connect with the perfect person in their lives, while others seem destined to spend their days in the loveless hinterland?
While the Law of Attraction explains this unique occurrence in this way-you bring into your life what you think and feel about -other social scientists are coming up with their own language for the same phenomenon.
Colleen Siefert and Richard Wiseman, both Ph.Ds in psychology, refer to this occurrence as a luck factor and believe that about 90% of what happens to us is actually brought about by the way we think. They refer to it as…
The global economy is in transition. Times of transition are accompanied by stress and uncertainty. Transition means a journey into new and uncharted waters. Which means, no one has the answers. A prime example can be found in the debates raging around the world on how best to handle this first-ever global financial crisis.
Be at least as interested in what goes on inside you as what happens outside. When you get the inside right, the outside will fall into place.Primary reality is within, secondary reality is without. -Eckhart Tolle, author, The New Earth
Intuition is a guidance that comes from within. It is our inner self. It comes from a feeling place and seems to signal something that is TRUTH for us.
We have structured a society with heavy reliance upon outside expert sources and double-blind studies to tell us what we should think and how we should act. Advertising bombards us daily in an attempt to shape our thoughts. We have lost touch with our own guidance systems.
That seemingly constant, gusting wind I cursed when I lived in Grande Prairie, Alberta, had a different look and feel for Drennen and Jamie Hallett. It was the whiff of opportunity.
The Hallett’s, owners of Golden Sheep Power, officially opened their doors for business in Grande Prairie on February 1, 2009. They will be the first company in Alberta to offer home-owners a chance to get off the grid by using home-based wind turbines and solar panels.
A NEW WIND IS BLOWING
Their timing could not be better. The provincial government just passed regulations to allow for micro-generation in Alberta. And the City of Grande Prairie, a city that has seen explosive growth in the past 5 years due to oil and gas exploration, has shown its openness to explore other sources of energy by allowing the Halletts to set up a pilot project to demonstrate and test the home-based units.
Attending a coffee shop gig a few weeks ago, I was told that Joy Ike was playing, and she would be a great artist to have on the bill for the Habitat For Humanity Benefit Concert I have been planning. I wasn’t disappointed, and I don’t think you will be either. If you are in Pittsburgh, check in to seeing her play and if you aren’t, check out Joy’s Myspace for a few tracks. Her sound is dynamic, thoughtful and fuses a brilliant spectrum of sound together, painting a beautiful picture.
We mentioned the research about contagious smiles a few weeks ago. Smiles, yawns, chuckles and laughs all seem to have a life of their own, moving like a virus among us. This little guy is great. We hope he doesn’t lose his sense of humor as an adult.
I bet you can’t watch this without at least cracking a smile.
Laughing Yoga seems to be just what the doctor ordered. In the midst of all the news of gloom and doom from almost every country on the planet, perhaps, it is time to have a belly laugh.
Dr Madan Kataria, a family physician from Mumbai, India started the first Laughing Yoga club in 1995. The idea has spread, as infectiously as a good giggle, to more than 5000 clubs in over 40 countries.
Are there health advantages to a good belly laugh? Well, who better to research it, than Britain’s own Academy award winner, king of Monty Python and Fawlty Towers, John Cleese.(source: www.youtube.com)

THE COMP PLAN IS SO GOOD – I CAN’T LEAVE IT WITH YOU!
Today I want to talk about network marketing pay plans, what works, what does not, what is legal, what is not; and how you can save yourself a lot of grief by telling the difference.
This is the 6th post in a series of articles on behaviours in network marketing I think need to stop immediately for the industry to attain the level of professionalism it deserves. This series of articles began with a post titled “People Don’t Dislike Network Marketing, They Dislike Network Marketers.”
WHAT ARE THE PEBBLES IN YOUR ORGANIZATIONAL SHOES?
Every organization has some disconnects in their business model or operations. Acknowledging that fact is a healthy first step. Some are obvious while many lurk undetected due to complacency, cultural blinders or simply bad habits.
Some are internal inconsistencies which in theory are easier to fix while some are due to external factors which might be beyond the control of the impacted organization.
If you have the courage to look there are some steps your can employ to improve the situation.
Our team is well balanced. We have problems everywhere. – Tommy Prothro
ESTER AND JERRY HICKS – FEBRUARY 19TH – ONLINE WORKSHOP
One of the first teachers on the concept of the Law of Attraction is Abraham, a channeled consciousness, presented through Ester and Jerry Hicks. Although my jury is still out on the idea of channeling, I do find the wisdom and messages shared here to be very good. I have concluded it does not matter whether I believe in channeling or not, I do believe in the message these people are bringing to the world, however they access it.
I have followed the journey of the Hicks as they carry their message of hope and guidance for some time, and find them to be very ethical and responsible teacher

Baby boomers are quaking over the 30 – 50% erosion of their retirements funds, while the biggest threat facing the status of their long-term financial well-being may be closer to home, and within their control.
The winning secret of hockey’s all-time great, Wayne Gretsky, has been much quoted and has relevance in being on top of your financial-future game. Gretsky said the key to his success was simply, “I don’t go to where the puck is…I go to where the puck will be.”
Today we have a lot of pre-retirees, baby boomers born between 1946 and 1964, now ranging in age from 45-63, anxiously looking over the shoulders of their financial planners, wondering how to recover the retirement loses they have seen in the past year.
In the debt-free province of Alberta, where the black gold that first gushed from the ground in the 1950’s, has resulted in a Heritage Trust fund worth of billions of dollars being set aside for a “rainy day” – getting anyone to think about alternative energy sources is not an easy sell. But two framers from the tiny farming community of Vegreville have risen to the challenge.
Their innovation to create Biogas from cattle manure seems a perfect fit for a province that has ranching as it second largest industry. It is also timely for a province aware of the implications of the depleting sources of non-renewable oil and gas, and the challenges of a reliance on an industry with a Boom/Bust economic cycle.
“Inventing a new technology is a pure Alberta story… a great example that building a knowledge economy can happen on the farm, not just in ivory towers” – Evan Chapko, CEO, Highmark Renewables (Edmonton Journal, 02/08/09)
Introducing Kiva.org, a Web 2.0 company focused on connecting generous contribution with the creative potential of those living in poverty. Kiva’s mission is simple: “to connect people through lending for the sake of alleviating poverty.” I had the pleasure of listening to Co-Founder Jessica Flannery speak this past weekend at Jubilee in Pittsburgh. Her speech offered two valuable insights:
1) A glimpse of hope -the poor of the world have the talent and creativity to become self sustaining…all they need is a boost in the form of capital
2) Advice – on how to realize the dream of any company, Kiva’s Story has something to offer to all of us.
INSPIRATIONAL CHRISTIAN CONFERENCE WITH A UNIVERSAL HUMAN MESSAGE
click to visit Jubilee’s homepage
I never thought attending a Christian conference would present me with such an abundance of culture and progressive thinking. This weekend started out with a talk by Gabe Lyons, co-author of the book “unChristian,” describing perception research into how the world views Christians. This research was conducted the same way a company conducts market research to understand brand perceptions, awareness, etc .
His research suggests, among other things, that people perceive Christians as having lost touch with culture and creativity – they are sheltered…out of touch with reality. These opening remarks began a weekend of inspiration, insight, and an exposure to some remarkable individuals who prove such an argument couldn’t be more wrong.
THE ULTIMATE FOCUS…THE HUMAN MESSAGE
How will you use your God-given talents, abilities and opportunities to cultivate learning, creating, building, and serving? And…how can you accomplish these goals in such a turbulent world?
Have you watched the hippo and dog singing and dancing to “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”? More from the grandkids. This one starts to please them from age 2 on, while the folks who grew up with the song start singing along too.
What distinguishes rare and unusual talent? How does it differ from ability that is studied and learned? From where does this unique gift come?
Is it a connection to a “resource pool” we can all tap into, if only we are open to possibility? Is one born into a high level of consciousness…already enlightened?
Akiane Kramarik is one such amazing talent. She finds it difficult to articulate the source of her gifts although she has no question as to its origins. It is, she says, “a gift from God.”

This is the fifth post in a series of articles that began with a post titled,“People Don’t Dislike Network Marketing,They Dislike Network Marketers” in which I sent out a plea for more professionalism in the industry, followed by 10 behaviours that we would be well-advised to stop as quickly as possible.
These 10 No-No behaviours have been the the subject of each weekly post since that first article.
Today’s rant, and 5th behaviour is the “claim of a cure”.
Some lady in Kansas had cancer and now she walks on water or (variation on the theme) my doctor does not know anything about this but it is an amazing cure.
