In a society fixated on external beauty and social status, it is not surprising New Years resolutions are about changing external factors. We want to be slimmer, more fit, wealthier. If you check out the top New Years resolutions in the United States, it would seem we believe we will be happier, if only we change external things in our lives.
Yes, there will be more stress in the world, but you can’t fix it by living in panic. Don’t waste your precious mind, thoughts and emotions in anger or fear.
THIS YEAR THINK BIG
Blaine Watson, Ayruvedic Astrologer and Todd Smith, Photographer, both live in British Columbia. They stopped by yesterday to meet with Judy Berg. I was fortunate they chose to call me for a great conversation about steps to success and “Thinking Big”.
Here we are again, at the time of year when we take a deep breath with great resolve to make changes in our lives. A time for new beginnings, turning over new pages, and a chance to create more of what we want in our lives. All too often our resolve seems to last only a few weeks at best, and the old habits seem to creep back in. Why is that?

Can you imagine a shopping experience where the owner tells you to touch everything, ask lots of questions, take your time, have a tea or coffee, and ring up your own purchases! Well, on one of my most unique shopping experiences, I heard all of that.
Hand Works is an eclectic array of mostly local artisan items displayed in a beautiful century home in the tiny village of Bloomfield, Prince Edward County, Ontario. The trip to Bloomfield is, of itself, well worth the experience-just to meet Tammy.
Today, I would like to introduce you to a very unusual “Enlightenor(tm) “…Art the Tibetan Lama Llama! – and Art’s creator, Karen Manganye of Avant Garde Art Studio in Spruce Grove, Alberta Canada.
An “enlightenor” in our definition, is someone who is living the new values and mindshift of the future, and who is making a contribution to a peaceful and abundant future for all.
“I have an Art the Tibetan Lama Llama, seated in the lotus position. Although the story for Art is not complete, he, like all of my other sculptures are made mostly from all recycled garbage.
Vancouver, British Columbia’s, Alisa Smith, free lance writer and journalist, and partner J.B. McKinnon, author, challenged themselves to a one year mission to eat only locally grown foods from a 100 mile radius of their Vancouver home as a statement in support of the environment and local growers.
MUSIC IS MY LOVE It calls to me in my dreams. I hear it in the wind, in the rhythm of the branches rubbing against my bedroom window. I feel electricity when I touch a guitar, a mouth harp, a piano.
I’ve decided to introduce you each week to a musician whose work I love, share a story or two, offer a bit about the music industry and a few resources. Whether you are an aspiring or performing musician looking toward your career, or a listener and lover of DooWop or BeBop, you might find something of interest.
Bill Birse, author of “The Amazing Thing About Grace” as well as, playwright and director of the play, “A Quilt of Many Cultures”, is the first inductee into our “Hall of Enlightenors”. An Enlightenor is one whose worldview, actions, and consciousness radiate outward to make the world a better place for all. They are our Friday feature.
If you are an ‘Enlightenor’, or know someone you would like to have recognized for the impact they are having – tell us! We believe they are the true News Headliners.
Many things struck me in your story about Carly, including her song, My Angel Mom. Angels are very special to me. I included the same line, “You are an angel” in a song I wrote long ago.
There is both a sound value and a meaning value in each word we use.Hence the power in a well crafted poem, or famous lines such as “… all men are created equal”, or “In the beginning was the Word.”
What we say (or write) every day can be meaningless and wasted, or it can have impact.
Living your life in the Law of Attraction means such an easy and abundant flow of experiences. We know that life is made up of constant changes always requiring us to make decisions… some are easy, some challenging -and some, well, only someone in the same situation can fully appreciate them … for most women, the idea of finding a new hairdresser rates right up there with the most difficult!
Steps Count www.stepscount.com is a small Ontario company with huge inspiration. I have chosen them as the first company I want to profile as an exemplary Enlightened Organization. Located in an office building basement, off the main street in Deep River, Ontario, a little town 2 hours north of Ottawa, it is nothing like any basement office you have been in!
Fundamental to understanding the concept of the Law of Attraction, is to understand the importance of personal responsibility. Once one appreciates that “all that is” comes from a higher power within, and your responsibility is to tap into that power, anything is possible.
Charlie Wicks is CEO at Pro-Co Sound in Kalamazoo, MI. In the 1970s, he was one of the founders of a massive musicians’ complex called the Sound Factory. Among other things, touring bands like Alice Cooper shipped their gear in for maintenance and repair there. I always enjoyed visiting, chatting about business, exploring the warehouse-size showroom, and lusting over the gorgeous gorgeous guitars.
There would always be folks playing the guitars, mandolins and everything else in the racks of acoustic and electric instruments. And on the wall was the big sign that said:
